Love isn't draining

It's self-replenishing

A fresh drink of water on a hot summer day

REFRESHING

Deeply quenching a thirst you are aware of

But you used sweet drinks and soda instead of water

Love is water

Forever flowing in the most dry lands

Through the mouth

To sit in the deep belly of those who need it most

Wrong

In the belly of your worst nightmare

The one that pains you

Burdens you

Takes from you

Your sweet drinks and treats

Yet you continue to love and pour

You give because God made you a fountain

All your time

Money

And feelings for this person

You think go unnoticed, but trust they are taking notes

Carefully studying how the paintbrush strokes the canvas

"How can I destroy her?"

Love has been toyed and manipulated because the world is wicked

Trauma is more present than genuineness

All they ever do is take from me

I think I'm helping me

Scratching an itch that has not been scratched in months

But really I'm digging my nails into my skin

And ripping back my flesh

Exposing my vulnerabilities

Instead of appreciating my brave efforts

He laughs

Because he lied

He was never real

His love was never love

His mysterious tendencies were not mysteries

I just failed to understand because his energy was never focused on mine

He never wanted to add to my life

He wanted to quench his thirst because God made me a fountain

I thought he liked me

Something about his mind intrigued me

Sex is not all that divine

Because my soul craves to be intertwined with another

I'd be good for him

Great even

But he is not good for me or to him

I want nothing from them
