Professional and Public Writer
Special Focus: Creative Writing and Grant Writing
A Precious Truth: Who am I?
Poetic and Sweet
A woman of many skills I am. A woman easily thrilled I am. I cannot be stagnant for stagnation is the killer of what is to be imagined.
I am a writer with a specified educational focus in Grant Writing. I am from Detroit, Mi, a city of hustlers and creatives my mission in life is to create and help people in any way my skillset allows me to. Being able to give back to the communities that raised me has always been the center of my work.
I hold a B.A in Professional and Public Writing from Michigan State University, which is a program that focuses on how rhetorical communication affects your professional identity. I write poetry and music as an outlet for my emotions and often the emotions I pick up from my peers. I turn emotion into art. I like creating in different mediums as well like painting, digital posters, and fashion.

-
Currently Learning: Don’t be ashamed of who you are regardless of who makes you feel small.

She has shown an interest in nonprofit communication and legal studies, and is taking courses in line with these pursuits. On a personal level, I always enjoy my advising appointments with Ms. Sumrall. She is jovial, humorous, and passionate about her future.
Dr. Margaret Morris, Professor
Ms. Sumrall was a student in my first-year writing class at Michigan State University, and her first writing assignment recounted a heartrending personal narrative. The story, even at the rough draft stage, was compelling and well written. Dallas is extraordinary and relatable, a communicator I’d like to hang out with so much more. I can’t wait to see her “be the light” she is in this world. She is going to write a great story.
