I am not yours, not lost in you

Not falling into a deep abyss of your blinding love

Not committed to loving you through the bullshit

But, I keep pushing myself only seeking to please the man above

Telling myself “ I can do this!”

I know you love me without a doubt

But you give me no attention leaving me in a love drought

You say you're “always busy”

And time waits for no man

But all a girl wanted is for you to hold her hand

Through the time we’ve spent together I have given you my all

Pouring into you despite what society saw

I knew the colors and hues of your personality

But I wanted to fix what was broken

And it left me questioning my mentality

You hurt me

Then left me to lick my wounds

Now you're back looking to be fed with a silver spoon

Well I've grown since you left

And I don't want you anymore

I was never yours, never lost in you

Never lusting over all that you do

Never fighting all the storms your ex left you

And never coexisting in a world that you drew

So, with this last stanza, I send you love

I want you to find peace and happiness

And strive to put all trust in the man above
